OK, I've started shopping for a house. If you know Cincinnati, I'm looking in Milford; if you don't know Cincinnati, I'm looking in one of the first generation ex-urbia suburbs built around the loop highway.
To put it bluntly, there's no way to say "I'm from Milford" and be cool. But it does beat my current statement of "I'm from Price Hill" which tends to scare some suburbanites.
Thankfully the housing market seems to be approaching a collapse, which is good for me as a buyer. And since I'm not selling a house, I don't have to worry about selling one in this market. I just need the prime rate to stay steady for the next month or so, that way I can lock in a good (if not great) fixed rate.
Anybody have any advice? |

The Reds lost any chances when they dumped the last West Coast road trip. Plain and simple. There are good signs however with an ownership that seems to want to court the fans, rather than just expect them to show up.
Regarding the car - this is the first new vehicle I've ever had. Previously, the newest car I ever had was seven years old. The great thing is, I've done almost all the work on my car, along with members of the local Subaru community. No doubt about that. We always seem to get out ass handed to us by the West Coast trip (but usually it comes much earlier.) The Reds just collapsed on nearly every front you could imagine, with only a few players living up their potential (or in Aurilia's case, exceeding it.) I am really hoping Castellini will be opening up the pocketbook this offseason to score us some serious relief talent and at least one 1-2 type pitcher and a solid 4 (add in Arroyo, Harang and hopefully Bailey.)
And that's cool to hear about your car. Being your first new one with a lot effort put into it, I bet it's your pride and joy.

Hey ujduche, I am glad to see another Reds/Bengals fan on Zoints. This message probably would have been a lot better if it came a few months ago when hope was aplenty, but I run a baseball community (with Zoints) and we have a smaller but pretty active group of Reds fans (although the activity has dwindled a bit as of late with the recent play has caused a cloud of apathy to hang over us.) So if you're curious, check it out as I know we would always love to get another fan on board. Here's the direct link to the Reds forum: http://strike3forums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=28
If not though, that's cool. I am not a big car buff (mostly because I don't have the cash to really fix up a ride), but your's looks awesome. The action shot in particular is pretty neat.
Welcome to Zoints.

Yeah Go Reds! Not a sensational season to say the least, but we definitely did a lot better than I expected. Well its nice to see more Reds fans on here. Quick question; do you like Narron?
Narron is in a tough position. The Reds seem to be shuffling through managers with regularity, and have been doing so for quite some time. Lou Pinnella wins the world series and then gets fired. To be honest, I'm having trouble naming the last three managers.
At least Castellini is willing to put some money into the team, and the recent promotions helped attendance. It's nice to finally have a majority owner who isn't a total cheapskate. Hopefully some of that money will find it's way into scouting and the minors. |
